Once your domain is set up, the next step is to increase its visibility on Google by setting up Google My Business. This helps ensure your website appears in local searches, making it easier for potential customers to find and connect with your business.
Why Google My Business is Essential for Your Business
Google My Business (GMB) is a free tool that allows businesses to manage their online presence across Google Search and Google Maps. Having a fully optimized GMB profile ensures that when potential customers search for your business—or businesses like yours—they can find accurate, up-to-date information about what you offer.
Why is Google My Business Important?
✅ Boosts Visibility – Helps your business appear in local searches, making it easier for potential customers to find you.
✅ Builds Trust – Displays important details like your business hours, location, services, and reviews, increasing credibility.
✅ Drives More Traffic – A well-optimized GMB profile can lead more visitors to your website and even increase foot traffic if you have a physical location.
✅ Encourages Customer Engagement – Customers can leave reviews, ask questions, and interact with your business directly from your GMB profile.
Why Connect It to Your Website?
Linking your GMB profile to your website ensures seamless navigation for potential clients, allowing them to learn more about your services, book an appointment, or make a purchase with ease. Plus, Google prioritizes businesses with complete and connected listings, which can improve your rankings in search results.
You can go ahead and set this up after your domain has been purchased or transferred to Wix.
Start by typing "Marketing Home" into your website Dashboard search bar, OR clicking the dropdown arrow next to "Marketing" on your Dashboard left side bar, then selecting "Marketing Home" from the list.

Then click "Start Now"
You'll be prompted to select one of two options:
1) Import Existing Profile: This is best for if you've previously created a Google My Business profile and want to simply connect your existing account. Clicking this button will prompt you to log into the Google Account that you used when creating your Google My Business profile.
If you're not sure if you have an existing Google My Business, simply type your business name into Google. If there's a bar that shows up on the right side that states: Your Business Name, Business Hours, Contact Details, etc - that means you have an existing profile!
If when you search for yourself on Google, you don't see anything on the right side of your screen, you likely haven't yet created a Google My Business profile. Follow the steps below to create a new profile.
2) Create a New Profile: When selecting this option, you can simply follow the prompts to create your profile.
